Tomorrow we will be welcoming Dr Judy Dlamini, an inspiring medical practitioner and prominent business mogul from South Africa. Judy recently published a book entitled “Equal but Different” which chronicles her own professional journey and that of other women who have achieved professional success. Her book focuses on the ways in which these women have negotiated barriers of race, gender and social class in their professional journeys.
Dr Dlamini has agreed to have a fireside chat with ALU staff and students to discuss the ideas in her book tomorrow at 1-2pm in Donald Kaberuka.
This will be a great opportunity to hear an interesting perspective on gender diversity issues which is based on Judy’s doctoral thesis drawn from multiple interviews with women leaders from several industries and countries. You are all encouraged to attend this important session as we think about how we can further implement our values of inclusivity and diversity here at ALU.
In the same session, her husband, Sizwe Nxasana, CEO of FirstRand Limited in South Africa, will also share his insights on leadership in conversation with Judy.
