Winning in Africa: From Trading Posts to Ecosystems - BCG

Mostly ignored by multinationals since the 1980s, Africa is now receiving their attention and investment. Awareness of the Africa opportunity is one thing. Winning in Africa is another. The continent remains a dizzying collection of emerging markets, each with its own unique business environment, risk profile, and potential. Many companies have been operating in Africa for decades and have learned the hard lessons that await newcomers. BCG conducted an extensive case study of those successful companies in Africa and identified key success factors. The BCG author team, Stefano Niavas and Takeshi Oikawa will introduce these key success factors with lively case examples and exchange views with the participants from ALC.
