Prior to joining ALU, Malika Laasri was the CEO of the Foundation of Education for Employment-Morocco (EFE Maroc). EFE Maroc is an affiliate of EFE Global, an international network of not-for profit organizations founded in 2002 with the aim to respond to youth employment challenge in the MENA region by providing an innovative, market driven approach to bridge the gap between unemployed youth and companies searching for human capital.

She was self-employed from February 2014 to May 2015. She specialized in providing technical assistance in the areas of strategic planning, program management, monitoring and evaluation, corporate social responsibility strategies, sustainable development approaches, partnership development and fund raising to various institutions such as CGEM, Gharbé Chrarda Beni Hssen Wilaya, Research Triangle Institute International...

Prior to this mission, she was appointment as the Deputy Director General of the Millennium Challenge Account Morocco, in November 2008. She was a driving force and a strong leader in the direction and management of $700 million MCA/Morocco Program, at all levels for 5 years. Her level-headed presence, discipline, and astute judgment made her the obvious choice to become the Acting Director General, a function she has exercised skillfully, upon the departure of the former Director General in May, 2013.

Prior to joining MCA/Morocco, Ms. Laasri functioned as the Youth Program Officer of a $15 million United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Country Program in Morocco, where she coordinated all youth-related UNFPA activities at the national level, established effective liaisons between all Program stakeholders, developed and supervised the implementation of strategic plans, and monitored major progress indicators.

Before UNFPA, Ms. Laasri spent nine years managing different USAID-funded multi-million dollar projects in Morocco, including as the Regional Director of the Progress Project ($14 million) and the Private Sector Program Manager under the Phase V Project ($52 million).

Ms. Laasri has extensive experience working with the United States and Morocco, managing a wide variety of programs, where her ability to plan strategically, monitor and evaluate program indicators, and develop partnerships made her an asset to her teams. She is presently the CEO of Education for

Employment Foundation, Morocco Affililate since June 2015.

Ms. Laasri holds a Bachelor Degree in Finance from the Institut Supérieur du Commerce et d’Administration des Entreprises (ISCAE) in Casablanca, Morocco and an MBA in International Business from Georgia State University, J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Atlanta, Georgia. She has native fluency in Arabic and French and speaks English fluently.
